Integrating with website and custom routes

Oct 14, 2010 at 11:19 AM

I'd like to add my own routes and create additional pages.  How can I add my own routes and now do I know what gets rewritten by the URL rewriter.  Or more specifically how can I prevent my own URLs from getting rewritten.

Thanks,

Hi Trevor,

The routes can be changed using the Routes.config file inside the Config folder. The web project is developed using ASP.NET MVC, if you want to create additional pages you could add a mvc controller and a view (and an entry on the routes.config file).

But If you want to develop those new pages using traditional asp.net webforms, you could read these articles: http://www.chadmyers.com/Blog/archive/2007/11/30/asp.net-webforms-and-mvc-in-the-same-project.aspx and http://www.hanselman.com/blog/PlugInHybridsASPNETWebFormsAndASPMVCAndASPNETDynamicDataSideBySide.aspx

Thanks.  I have a custom RouteHandler for a CMS that I need to integrate.  I guess I will have to modify the code to register my routes in addition to those in the config file.
