Open ID Membership - Usernames

Aug 22, 2013 at 2:58 AM
I have implemented basic Open ID webring authenication, however the member login is coming through with the nasty identifier information required by the last end point so user logged in is showing up with somedomain.dev.com.au/user/<username>.

Is there any way to make the username in nearforums just the <username> section?

Thanks for any help what so ever :)

I went digging into the NearForums code and looks like the username is only created by IAuthenticationResponse.FriendlyIdentifierForDisplay.

I don't think there is a way to make this nice or friendly, i think the only way to adjust this would be to extend the implementation of the OpenId relay to get a ClaimsRequest where we could provide details like "NickName" for username, and populate fields like Email & Birth Date.

Is this the appropriate approach, and would this kind of feature be accepted back into the main branch?

Thanks Jorge.

First time, I've done this but I believe I correctly created a Pull request for the feature.

Thanks for confirmation :)
