SQL Azure

I was not able to run the SQL scripts on SQL Azure due to limitations with the Azure platform. Is it possible to use this forum software with a SQL Azure backend?

Hi Alex,

Sorry for the delay!

The problem with SQL Azure are the ASP.NET Membership create scripts (included in the release).

It was reported previously (included solution), but we didn't modified the db scripts in the v8.5...

The solution is to remove the WITH (nolock)  from the select statements, you can do it manually (we will not change the db scripts until next version).

Kind Regards,

Jorge

UPDATE: The solution is to edit the sql scripts, specifically the "aspnet_Membership_GetNumberOfUsersOnline" procedure:

CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[aspnet_Membership_GetNumberOfUsersOnline]

@ApplicationName nvarchar(256),
@MinutesSinceLastInActive int,
@CurrentTimeUtc
datetime
 AS
BEGIN
DECLARE @DateActive datetime
S
ELECT @DateActive = DATEADD(minute, -(@MinutesSinceLastInActive), @CurrentTimeUtc)

DECLARE @NumOnline int

SELECT @NumOnline = COUNT(*)

FROM dbo.aspnet_Users u WITH (NOLOCK),

dbo
.aspnet_Applications a WITH (NOLOCK),

dbo
.aspnet_Membership m WITH (NOLOCK)

WHERE u.ApplicationId = a.ApplicationId
AND LastActivityDate> @DateActive
AND
a.LoweredApplicationName = LOWER(@ApplicationName)
AND
u.UserId = m.UserId
RETURN(@NumOnline)

END
